Ideal Setup for Multiple Devices or Data Sources

Edited

Follow this guide to setup your Bevel Data Source and Calculation Settings for specific integrations or combinations of devices.

Data Sources can be accessed through your Profile icon > Data Sources.

Calculations can be accessed through your Profile icon > Customization > Calculations.

Apple Watch Only

Calculations (Recommended)

  • HRV method: Bevel (RMSSD) + Entire sleep

  • RHR method: Bevel + Entire sleep

  • Temperature method: Wrist

  • Use SpO2 from: Entire sleep

  • Use RR from: Entire sleep

  • Calories display: Active or Total energy

Data Sources

  • Ensure Apple Watch is listed as a Data Source in each category

  • Hide Data Sources that are no longer in use or that may cause duplicates.

Garmin or Oura Only

Calculations

  • These only apply to data coming from Apple Health, so you do not need to adjust them for direct integrations.

Data Sources (Recommended)

  • During integration, you will be prompted to hide duplicate Data Sources for Garmin or Oura that currently exist in Apple Health.

  • Ensure Garmin or Oura is the primary source for all data.

  • Hide any other sources that may cause duplicates (e.g. Strava duplicate of a Garmin workout).

Other Devices that writes to Apple Health (e.g. Amazfit Helio Strap)

Calculations

  • HRV method: Apple Health + Entire day

  • RHR method: Apple Health + Entire day

  • Temperature method: Body

  • Use SpO2 from: Entire day

  • Use RR from: Entire day

  • Calories display: Active or Total energy

Data Sources

  • Hide any other sources that may cause duplicates.

Any Mix of Integrations or Sources in Apple Health

Calculations

  • Follow setup depending on the primary device you are using.

Data Sources

  • If you are wearing an Oura ring during sleep and Apple Watch during the day, for example, you will need to choose a main Data Source for certain metrics. For example, you will get Resting and Active Energy from both devices, so hide the device you do not want data displayed from.

Following these steps will ensure that your data is coming from a primary device and that duplicates are carefully handled.
