Troubleshooting Nutrition
If your calories, macros, or nutrition data in Bevel don’t look right, don’t worry. This guide will help you identify common causes and fix them. Follow the steps below to ensure your Nutrition values are accurate and up to date.
Note: This article focuses on the Nutrition values shown on the main Nutrition page in Bevel.
Calories Eaten Look Too High
Why this happens
You may have multiple food-tracking apps writing calorie data to Apple Health, which Bevel then reads which results in double counting.
How to fix it
Open Bevel.
Tap your initials or profile picture in the top-right corner.
Tap Data Sources.
Tap Nutrition.
Hide any duplicate or unwanted sources.
This ensures Bevel only uses your preferred nutrition source. For more information on how to manage data sources, read this article.
Calories Burned Look Too High
Why this happens
More than one workout source may be writing active calories, causing duplicates.
How to fix it
Open Bevel.
Tap your initials or profile picture in the top-right corner.
Tap Data Sources.
Tap Workout.
Hide any duplicate or unwanted sources.
Bevel will then calculate calories burned using only the correct source. For more information on how to hide data sources, read this article.
Macros Aren’t Showing Up
Why this happens
Bevel may not have permission to read or write Nutrition data in Apple Health.
How to fix it
Step 1: Check Apple Health permissions
Open Apple Health.
Tap Sharing.
Tap Apps.
Select Bevel.
Ensure all desired Nutrition items are enabled.
Step 2: Check Bevel settings
Open Bevel.
Tap your initials or profile picture in the top-right corner.
Tap Customization.
Tap Nutrition.
Scroll down and make sure Write to Apple Health is toggled on.
We recommend toggling on Macronutrients, Micronutrients, Water Intake, Caffeine Intake, and Alcohol to ensure all nutrition data is tracked.
Note: If “Write to Apple Health” was previously turned off, you’ll need to re-add past meals for macros to sync correctly.
My Nutrition App Isn’t Syncing With Bevel
Why this happens
Your nutrition app may not have permission to write to Apple Health, or it may not support Apple Health syncing at all.
How to fix it
Open Apple Health.
Tap Sharing.
Tap Apps.
Select a third-party app.
Ensure all desired Nutrition items are enabled for Read and Write.
Note: Some apps (such as Fastic and Noom) do not write nutrition data to Apple Health.
