Strain Troubleshooting
Why is Strain or Cardio Load missing or incorrect?
Check the following:
You are wearing your device during sleep (for RHR)
Heart Rate zones are set correctly
HRV and RHR data are syncing properly
If needed:
Open Apple Health to trigger a sync
Clear cache and reload data in Bevel
Why does my Strain seem too high or too low?
This can happen if:
Heart Rate zones are misconfigured
Heart rate data is incomplete
Your baseline is still calibrating (first 2–6 weeks)
Review your settings and give the app time to calibrate.
Why is my Cardio Load not updating?
Cardio Load requires:
Recent workout data
Consistent heart rate tracking
At least several weeks of data for accuracy
If it’s missing:
Check your integrations
Ensure workouts include heart rate data
If it shows “Calibrating”:
This means there isn’t enough consistent workout data yet. Cardio Load needs regular training to determine your status.
To resolve this, aim for:
~3 workouts per week
Consistent training over at least 2–3 weeks
This helps the algorithm gather enough data to provide an accurate Cardio Load.
Why isn’t Strain calculated for a workout I logged?
Strain requires heart rate data to calculate effort.
If you log a workout but there’s no heart rate data:
Cardio workouts → No Strain will be generated
Strength workouts → Strain may still appear if exercises are logged
Why is Strain or Cardio Load not working properly?
Strain and Cardio Load rely on accurate and consistent heart rate data.
For these features to work correctly, Bevel needs:
Reliable Resting Heart Rate (RHR)
Properly configured Heart Rate zones
Consistent sleep data (used to establish your baseline)
RHR is typically derived from sleep, so wearing your device overnight is important.
If any of this data is missing or inaccurate, your Strain or Cardio Load may appear incomplete or incorrect.
